I didn't run yesterday.. I just went to my massage instead. I figured, I'd relish in spoiling myself. :) It was absolutely fantastic too. I had huge knots in my shoulders, and today they feel great. I can tell that tension is gone because of some yoga poses that I couldn't even get into before now comes with ease.

Hopefully I can run today and tomorrow and get to the gym too. Geez, I need to get better at this.

Last night ~ I did crunches and ran the loop. It was almost 2 minutes faster than the day before when my legs were killing me - 16:19.

This morning ~ Yoga with a dvd from the library - AM Yoga with Rodney Yee.

Subject:Here we go again..
Time:6:20 pm.
Mood: okay.
It is inevitable that I will have to change my schedule around because of something.

Ashtanga killed me. I could barely walk the next day, let alone run. It felt like I did max everything with weights on my legs. I guess I will lay off of that for awhile.

So Tuesday I walked to the gym (1 mile) and did weights with arms. Bench, pull down, fly, reverse fly, and bis. Then I just came home and stretched.

Wednesday I did PM yoga on a dvd that I got from the library. It was very light and a very good stretch on my sore legs. I ran the loop at a snails pace because of my legs still - 18:09. Yikes. What a bummer.

Subject:Ashtanga Yoga
Time:2:57 pm.
I went to the yoga class at the base gym today, and it totally blew me off of my feet. It was Ashtanga yoga, which I don't practice. It's powerful and hard to do, but I made it through the class without taking a break. That's a great feat.

That class did give me a new goal go from shoulder stand, to plow, to dead man's pose. She called it dead man's, but for some reason I don't think that's right. I'm trying to search for the name of it as we speak. You are first in plow (laying on back, legs over your head, and feet on the floor behind your head..) then you drop your knees/shins/top of foot to the ground so you are looking at your own backside. It looks silly, but I wanna do it.

Abs during '24' tonight.

Subject:Legs and fartlek
Time:8:17 pm.
Mood: hungry.
I went to the gym during work shifts today and I did legs. Abducters, adducters, ham curls, quads, calves.

After my 2nd shift I went for a run. I started too fast and didn't want to waste it so I did a fartlek. It was still an average time for my 1.65 miles - 15:56. I feel really good though. Running is good.

Definition of fartlek by google ~ A Swedish term meaning speed play. A type of workout which allows the runner while on a continuous run to use fast, moderate, or slow periods of running alternated as desired by the runner. This workout is both aerobic and anaerobic.

Subject:The gym was closed?!
Time:8:14 pm.
Mood: content.
I went running to the gym tonight, so I could get my weight lifting in. But, the gym was closed for a "planned power outage." Ack. Why wasn't that in the paper? So I ran back home. Total of 1.5 miles (or so) in 16 minutes. My calves and quad muscles were very sore today. Hopefully tomorrow they will feel better.

I did my abs at home - 100 crunches. Then I did another round of yoga. Great salutations, tree poses (that were awesome), and bridge, fish, and child's. Really felt good. :)

Subject:It feels damn good.
Time:4:52 pm.
Mood: rejuvenated.
I was out running today.. in short shorts and my tank top when I notice someone practically falling out of their car waving at me. It's one of my Girl Scout's dads! Haha. And he's a cute dad... he's divorced so no worries.. but oh wait I'm married. Just playing. ;)

Anyway, so I took my iPod along today and it really seemed to help. I focused on the music as much as possible, so I wouldn't say negative things about the heat or the sun to myself. It would've slowed me way down if I did that.

I went for 2 miles and I ran it in 19:26. :)

When I got home, I sipped on some ice water and I did yoga poses. My Great Salutation seems to be more fluid, and the down dog really helped stretch my calf muscles. I'm still in love with fish pose, so I ended with that.

Subject:The arch..

Mood: satisfied.
So the arch messed me up. I didn't run yesterday because it was still sore, and I was overwhelmed with life. Things are much better today. My life is back in order, and my arch was fine. Sometimes I think things side line us so we can take a break. A needed one.

Today I ran the loop. James rode his bike next to me, and I didn't bring a watch but it felt good. I've been really working on my form, and the whole ran seemed differently to me. A good different. I felt strong.

Subject:Oh.. ouch..
Time:9:33 pm.
Mood: tired.
I hurt my arch today.. I think today. It's so odd. James and I walked to and from the gym (a little over a mile, I'd guess), and on the way back my arch really started to hurt. Just my right one. While I was walking! It doesn't make any sense to me. We didn't even lift legs at the gym.. we did arms. How did I manage this one?

Anyways.. I did bench, pull downs, curls, tris, tri dips, and a shoulder exercise at the gym tonight.

Just now, I finished a round of yoga. I did 2 great salutations, tree poses, and floor/back exercises with James.

I'm totally tired.. I'm going to bed.

Mood: accomplished.

That's one thing I love about running, it gets me outside and I begin to appreciate the Earth. This makes feel a connection to my world and a connection to myself. Tonight, I ran the loop in 16:11. Less than 10 minute/mile the day after doing weights with legs and not running for a long time. Not shabby.

I did some great salutations and floor poses this morning before I left for the orthodontist. I think that makes me feel so much better during the day. I need to do some tomorrow before exams.

I will do 100 situps during '24' tonight.

Mood: hopeful.
On Friday, I did about 30 minutes of yoga before I left for the Girl Scout camping trip. It felt very refreshing. I really should do more morning yoga to get me going.

Today, James and I went to the gym and worked our legs. Then we took Tri for a mile walk. I've been doing stuff, just not anything structured.

My life has been out of whack and the rest of my being follows suit. I get busy, I get stressed, I get tired, and then things go down hill. My house looks like a tornado hit it, then I lose motivation, and I don't want to work out because I'm mentally and physically exhausted from it all. This week, I will work to change that. The house is back in order, I'm caught up on my sleep, and I'm ready to go again. :)

Subject:Back on the road..

Mood: good.
Tonight, I did go run! Yay for me! It's about freaking time.

I went for 1.5 miles in 14:38. It was tough too. I could tell that's been awhile since I've been out there. My calves still hurt like they did before. I think I should try running on the rubberized track tomorrow instead.

I also came home and did yoga. I did the great salutations. The down dog and warriors felt really good on my legs.

Ok, I'm officially off track and I haven't ran in a long time.

Today I will run.

Yesterday, I did do something. I lifted at the gym for 40 minutes (arms) and I walked almost 2 miles. It's not like I've totally been a lazy pig. :)

Well, I'll finally admit it... I didn't do anything all weekend. :(

I can't really figure out exactly what was wrong, but it was a culmination of many things I think. My mind took over and the rest of me lost its balance. I tried a lot of things to even things out, but nothing seemed to work. Maybe my body was just calling for a retreat.

Subject:Run and The Great Salutation
Time:7:01 am.
Mood: hungry.

Last night, I ran further than the regular 1.65 mile loop... it was probably more like 1.80.  My time was 17:56, but I knew I was going kind of slow.  James was riding his bike next to me trying to push me along, but my legs were refusing.  They were hurting everywhere.  My hamstrings were tight, my calves were on fire in the worst way possible, my left hip was really sore, and my achilles hurt.  I swear, it's either the legs or the lungs.  Ack. 

We tried going outside so we could get rained on, but it just sprinkled.  Then we took the dog for a walk, and it rained.  We walked in the house and sat down and it downpoured.  Go figure! :)

I tried a new yoga sequence last night called The Great Salutation.  I really liked the flow of it, and I'll be incorporating it into the practice that James and I do.

Mood: tired.
So it's my day off, but I still did something light. I walked with James and the dog for 1 mile. Yay Tri made it one mile!!! :) Anyways, then I got home and did a tree sequence and did dancer's pose for yoga. I did a short grounding exercise and called it a night.

I'm tired.

Subject:A good day's work
Time:8:33 pm.
Mood: peaceful.
Last night I did 100 crunches during the commercials of 24, so I did meet that goal.

Tonight, I went for a 2 mile run and my calves were really hurting. I thought I might have to stop and stretch, but I made it through and with a good time for me (19:27). I really thought I'd be running about a 20 minute 2 mile pace, but I impressed myself instead.

When I got back, I drank a whole bunch of water and then James and I did yoga together. I came up with a little better routine - sun salutations, triangle, warrior II, tree poses and work from a dvd, then the back exercises (bridge, fish, cat, bow, and ended with child's). I feel really good right now.

I'm sitting in my round chair in the bedroom, where I never sit, with my lamp on and candles and insence on my altar are lit. This is how everyday should end.

Subject:Time.. who needs it?
Time:7:55 pm.
Mood: sore.
Food for thought ~ "Running with a watch is always a good thing. Sometimes you need it to slow yourself down."

I left my watch at home because I thought it would help me go slow and just run. But, I felt like I was running too fast and everything was hurting. A watch to look at it and pace from would've been very helpful.

So I just ran around the loop fighting with my legs the whole time. Tomorrow should be better. :)
